Backwood Folk #1 Is Out Now!

Hey friends! Backwood Folk’s first issue is now fully out in the world. It’s currently available in THE GIFT SHOP in both a big 9.6 x 9.6 handsome print volume and a much more budget conscious downloadable pdf. I’m really proud of this one and put really everything into it. Hope you guys dig it. Should be the perfect Halloween season reading if I do say so myself.

If you are in Northwest Arkansas you can even stroll into a couple locations and buy it off shelves! For those in Fayetteville, AR drop by Rock Bottom Comics! For those in Springdale it’s at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History (I also recommend just visiting the museum, it’s a wonderful resource of regional history)

OTHER NEWS

I’ll be attending Spa-Con again this year down in Hot Springs, Arkansas from September 20-22. I’ll even be doing a drawing demonstration panel on Ozark ghosts and monsters. Should be a blast! One of my favorite events to attend (even did this year’s poster)

Introducing OTTERHEAD

Hello friends! One of those much alluded to other projects is done and available NOW! Been working on this one over the last year with writer Tom Maringer of Shire Post Mint and I’m happy to say it’s available now in print from the Shire Post shop offline or otherwise. It was a blast of a book to make. It’s a tale of a far away future where all the otters are gone, and a little girl who is determined to find out where and why. Even if it means taking it to the people in charge of the cosmos itself.

It’s a 28 page story told almost entirely in double page spread. Tom’s writing provided me ample opportunity to do some absolutely wild illustration work. We’re very proud of this one!

We Made a Podcast

Always thought I’d escaped from ever having the title of podcaster, but here we are! Some close friends of mine got me on board with a little project where we discuss Ozark history and folklore. Probably no surprise from most of you that it’s a close topic for me. It updates every Sunday with a new episode! WE ALWAYS LIE TO STRANGERS is available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. We also have an instagram. I think I said that all right. Brave new world composed of one of the few senses I never work with in comics.
